Why does Peanut Butter & Co use Palm Oil and is it sustainably sourced?Updated 3 months ago
We use a minimal amount of palm oil to stabilize some of our peanut butter spreads. It is a non-hydrogenated, non-GMO oil that maintains a semi-solid state at room temperature, which helps to prevent the natural peanut oil from separating in the jar. This results in a consistently creamy texture that requires little to no stirring.
As a company committed to utilizing simple, honest ingredients, we are fully aware of the concerns surrounding palm oil production. Our company policy is to only use palm that is certified sustainable through the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), a not-for-profit organization that works to establish and uphold global standards for sustainable palm oil.
